Mental Fitness Nonprofit Primary Research Projects and Programs
Project #1: How To Manage Serious Mental Illness and Eating Disorders in School Setting
Project #2: FLOURISH
FLOURISH is a peer led resilience program for college, high school and elementary school students. FLOURISH utilizes existing evidence-based content that builds the seven protective categories of mental fitness. These arts and mindfulness techniques are taught to college and high school students who then oversee the teaching of elementary aged children. Based on our success over the last four years with the program at Spartanburg Day School and Meeting Street Academy, we will be expanding the program to more schools and need to train three more Facilitators how to lead the initiative.
Project #3:5 Minute Mindfulness for Classroom Educators
Teachers can now learn short and easy mindfulness exercises for the classroom setting. The curriculum focuses on stress management, trauma focused mindfulness and other evidence-based techniques that build resilience in all youth. As featured in the 2016 and 2017 Compassionate Schools Summer Summit in Spartanburg, this program is a must-have for educators.
