It has been a busy year for us at Mental Fitness and we are so proud to announce some important honors and awards. In particular, we are grateful to our donors, sponsors and partners for assisting us in delivering our evidence-based programs.
- We are truly honored that our FLOURISH program is being recognized by the Altrusa International organization with an award highlighting the ASTRA-Flourish program at Spartanburg Day School. For four years, Flourish has been led by ASTRA high school students, in collaboration with Meeting Street Academy elementary aged students in Spartanburg. The peer-led resilience program has shown to build resilience in the teens and elementary aged youth who participate.
- Mental Fitness Founder has been invited to present about how authentic community engagement and innovative digital programs build relationships at the 2017 Southeastern Council of Foundations Annual Meeting. Led by Kathy Dunleavy and Samantha Overton of the Mary Black Foundation, the presentation will highlight the success of the Way to Wellville Listening Campaign and the Video Village exhibit, one of nine installations in Seeing Spartanburg in a New Light public art challenge, supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies.
- Mental Fitness Founder is Invited Presenter at the 2017 Kauffman Foundation Mayors Conference on Entrepreneurship in Oakland, CA. Hussa Farrell and her husband Tim Farrell will serve as entrepreneur advisors at the prestigious conference for Mayors from all around the U.S.
Mental Fitness Founder is Invited Panelist at the Purposebuilt Communities Annual Conference where she will collaborate with colleagues from the StartME Spartanburg program and Emory University to highlight the power of entrepreneurship in high needs areas of communities.
- Mental Fitness Founder is a finalist for the InnoVISION award produced by Deloitte, for co-Creating the Sharpen technology platform with her husband Tim Farrell.
